Global Shapers Minneapolis
As a cultural studies enthusiast and entrepreneur, I’m interested in what makes the world go round and believe that you can study anything as an artifact…from pop culture to global development (it all fits together somehow). If you can understand people, then you can understand the things people create: markets, politics, businesses, systems, problems, as well as solutions. My number one goal is for you to literally click, view, and learn something new from whatever you find here.
Why so low-tech? Well, this started as a place to collect my thoughts and share them to anybody interested in reading them. No fluff. No distractions. Just content. Real learning is messy.
My #3 StrengthsFinder strength is Learner, so you can see why you might find an analysis of a recent rap song posted right after a blog post about innovation or global studies. My remaining strengths are Self-Assurance, Futuristic, Strategic, and Achiever. I am always learning new things and do not limit myself to any one category or source of content.
The best way to approach my content is from the mindset that I’m a fan of food-for-thought, being open-minded, and determined to make sense of the world in order to start developing solutions to a number of large-scale global problems. I plan to be involved at a global level with the United Nations (UNESCO), TED, World Economic Forum, Google.org, International Baccalaureate, and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation throughout my life.
I currently chair the Communications Committee within the Minneapolis Global Shapers hub as an initiative within the World Economic Forum. Fortunate to attend TED2010 in Palm Springs, CA, I proceeded to get involved with TEDx efforts at the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic, and was a TEDFellows candidate. Startup-wise, I do social for select highly-visible and high-net-worth clientele and have an EdTech startup underway.
Thank you for reading about me. I hope you enjoy my blog.
