Tom Friedman at Brandeis discusses ‘Hot, Flat, and Crowded’

The part on energy poverty (41:00) stood out the most to me because as Friedman says, “you will not fall behind arithmetically, you will fall behind exponentially”. Without access to an energy grid, all of the worlds advancements in computing, technology, and medicine will mean nothing to that 25+% of the human population who cannot run any of the technologies with their ‘on/off switch’… (especially not by a green standard).
